Speaking in front of people is always scary and nervous. Especially, as an international student, speaking in other language rather than my native language makes me want to puke. Before I registered M Com 320 class, I knew that there is going to be a group presentation. So I thought the group presentation as something that I need to finish no matter what. Luckily enough, I got to be in the best group in our class (my opinion). My team members were all understandable and nice to me regarding my inability of speaking fluently in English. I tried my best to find a way to contribute for the team. I volunteered to design and make our team presentation powerpoint file. I did not know how to make our presentation pretty by using animation feature, I figured out how to do it for our team. It has been a great chance for me to learn how to use many powerpoint presentation features. For the group presentation day, I practiced a lot for my part. I don’t want to be a burden of our team because of my English. I repeated again and again to memorize my line. Because of nervousness, I couldn’t help to make some mistakes but I was glad that I was the part of our team member and that I could help them even a little bit.

Find someone who is more stressful than you and be nice.
I did not even try to find someone who is having difficult time. I just saw my friends’ comments on the Facebook as usual. That was the time when I saw this frustrating comment about her life right now, saying that she is not happy and she is struggling with everything these days. She left a note on her facebook wall that describes how she is so lonely in a foreign country not being able to see her families and friends in her home country. She also mentions that she feels like everything that she’s been doing in the States is not worthwhile and wants go home so bad. Right after I have read this I felt so bad that I cannot do anything for her but leave a nice comment for her. I left a comment on her Facebook wall that this hard time that you are having right now will soon pass away so just hang in there. I tried to make her feel better by leaving a comment that this particular time is just short period of time in her life.
My Family Reunion
This week was been blessed but painful time for me. The reason for feeling blessed is that I got to see my parents and brother for the first time in almost four years. It has been almost four years since my brother and I decided to study abroad in the United States. My brother went to LA, and I came to Utah. We haven’t visited to Korea since then. However, this time my parents came to Utah to see my brother’s graduation. The graduation will be held in LA but they first came to Utah to see me. And my brother came to Utah too. We were all happy to see each other and talk a lot that night. The reason why I feel painful is because I am going to school for spring term right now. It was unavoidable choice that my parents visit me but it is such a bad timing. Because of finals week, I couldn’t see my parents often. My parents and brother understand that this is a time to concentrate on my study but I feel terrible to them. I will make it up for them after my finals are all done since we have some time left.
NBA Finals 2011 2
There was just four points difference when the game started third quarter. It seemed like Dallas was doing fine in an away game. But there was something wrong with Dirk Nowitzki. Unlikely, he scored only four points after a half time, and the he was shooting just 2 out of 13 from the field. However, Dallas was not a man team anymore. Jason Terry did a great job on this game. It seemed like everything that he throws was going straight to basket. Thanks to Jason Terry’s contribution to the team, Dallas Mavericks kept the lead in the third quarter. So it was only 12 minutes left for Dallas to win the title. It wasn’t looking good for Dallas because Chandler and Nowiztki was having foul trouble, and Nowiztki wasn’t having a good condition. However, it was useless worrying. Dallas’ fourth quarter hero, Dirk Nowiztki started to fire and scored more than 10 points just in the fourth quarter, at the very important moment. Finally, the whistle blew out and Dirk Nowiztki was announced as the most valuable player in the NBA 2011 Final series. I was happy to see that Dirk’s many years of hard working finally paid off. Hopefully, Miami Heat will get the NBA title next season.
NBA Finals 2011 1
It caught me a bad time to watch NBA Finals 2011 game 6. The next week is my finals’ week. I should not have spent time on watching basketball game, but I couldn’t resist. When I started to watch the NBA final Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat game 6, it was right before the start of third quarter. Dallas was leading the series 3 to 2. If Dallas wins this game Dallas gets their first NBA Champion title in their franchise history. I hoped that Dallas could win because I wanted to see that Jason Kid and Dirk Nowitzki could get their first NBA rings after more than 15 years of NBA careers. Miami Heat has been doing great job this season, but I thought Jason Kid and Dirk Nowitzki deserve more than Lebron James and Dwayne Wade.

The UEFA Champions League Final
2010-2011 UEFA Champions League Final was very special to me and my friends. The main reason was because my star player, Ji-sung Park, was playing in that match. As I mentioned in the previous blog, Ji-sung Park is playing for Manchester Untied. He and his team made to the Champions League Final. But the opponent team was, the best of the best teams, FC Barcelona. Many soccer experts assumed that the match will be very interesting but the victory will go to FC Barcelona. It was held on last Saturday afternoon. My friends and I gathered together and watched the whole game. As we wished, Ji-sung Park was one of the starters from Manchester United squad. To make a long story short, there was no miracle for Manchester United. As everyone expected, FC Barcelona dominated the game and won 3 to 1. It was so frustrating to watch the team that I supported loosing, but we all had to admit that FC Barcelona is the best team in the world. Ji-sung Park and his team did really good job this season, and I applaud for their progress and success of this season.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat
I lost my interest to watch NBA 2011 playoffs since my favorite team LA Lakers and Boston Celtics got dropped from the playoffs. However, I kept hearing the NBA news. Ever since I saw that Miami Heat defeated Boston Celtic, I knew Heat will be advanced to the Final. Derik Rose’s Chicago Bulls is great team defensively but Miami has various offense options that Bulls can’t resist all of them. I assumed that Chicago and Miami will go to at least 6 games but surprisingly it ended sooner than I thought. On the contrary, guessing which team will take the last seat to the final was easy. Seeing the result of semi-final, Mavericks vs. Lakers, most of the NBA fans could have guessed that Mavericks would make to the final. I just saw the highlights of NBA finals 2011 game2, it has tied up the series 1 to 1. Honestly, I assumed that the Heat will sweep the series, but after I saw Dallas made an incredible comeback, it totally changed my mind. Dirk was unbelievable at the fourth quarter. If Dirk and his teammates keep it up like that to the rest of games, Mavericks has great chance to have their first NBA title. I hope that Dirk and Jason could have NBA champion rings finally.
